HOME REMEDIES you can use to PREVENT and treat EARLY-STAGES of seasonal colds and flu:

  • GET WARM- at the very 1st sign of an cold or flu, take a HOT bath and wrap up in a blanket....you want to make yourself sweat! But not for too long. Soak your clothes, and then change into dry clothes and continue to stay warm, but not sweating (too much sweating can deplete the Qi!)

  • Gui Zhi Tang Tea- at the very early stages of a cold or flu, or after being out in the cold (like the kids outside playing sports after school in the winter) make this hot tea:

  1. juice of 1/2 lemon

  2. 1 tbs honey

  3. 2 pieces sliced, fresh ginger (each about the size of a quarter)

  4. 1/4 tsp cinamon

  • Epsom Salt Baths- Magnesium is very good for the immune system, and salt helps draw out toxins from the body. These aspects along with getting warm and opening the channels of the upper back and neck help rectify the proper flow of Qi in the Lungs and nasal passages, so that URI's do not form.

And of course... ACUPUNCTURE treatments help boost the immune system before, during, and after sickness!
